शलजम का परिचय (Introduction of Turnip): शलजम (turnip) एक कंदमूल सब्जी है, जो पौष्टिकता से भरपूर होने के साथ स्वास्थ्यवर्द्धक भी होती है। इसमें FAIT बहुत कम होता है इसलिए जो फिट रहना चाहते हैं उनके लिए ये बहुत ही फायदेमंद है। लेकिन आयुर्वेद में शलजम को खाने के अलावा औषधि के रुप में भी उपयोग किया जाता है। क्योंकि शलजम बहुत सारे बीमारियों से राहत भी दिलाता है |
आइये जाने शलजम (shalgam) किन-किन बीमारियों के लिए फायदेमंद है- शलजम के जड़ तथा पत्ते का प्रयोग सलाद के रुप में तथा सब्जी के रुप में किया जाता है। इसके पत्ते मूली के पत्ते जैसे होते हैं। इसके फूलो का रंग पीला होता है। इसकी जड़ कुंभरुपी, गोल, सफेद तथा हल्के बैंगनी व गुलाबी रंग की होती है|
शलगम एक सब्जी है, जो ज्यादातर शीतकाल में ही पाई जाती है। आमतौर पर शलजम की सब्जी बनाकर ही खाया जाता है। लेकिन इसका पत्ता बहुत ही कड़वा होता है,आयुर्वेद में इसे औषधि के रुप में प्रयोग किया जाता है। शलजम मधुर, थोड़ा गर्म, छोटा तथा वात,पित्त और कफ को दूर करने वाला होता है।यह खाने में रुचि बढ़ाने वाला, पेट संबंधी समस्याओ का निवारण करता है तथा ज्वर में फायदेमंद होता है। इसका जड़ और पत्ता पित्त को बढ़ाने वाला, कृमि से निजात दिलाने वाला होता हैं। शलजम श्वास संबंधी समस्या पाने में लाभदायक है
शलजम के अन्य नाम :शलजम का वनस्पतिक नाम Brassica rapa Linn. (ब्रासिका रापा) campestris Linn. है। शलजम Brassicaceae (ब्रैसीकेसी) कुल का है और अंग्रेजी में इसको Turnip (टरनिप) कहते हैं। लेकिन भारत के अलग अलग स्थानों पर शलगम को भिन्न-भिन्न नामों से जाना जाता है। जैसे-
- Urdu-शलजम (Shaljam);
- Kannada-कप्पूसासो (Kappusaso), सर्सिवे (Sarsive);
- Gujrati-सलगम (Salgam), रैरा (Reira);
- Bengali-शलोगोम (Shalgom)
- Tamil-करुप्पूक्काडूगु (Karuppukkadugu);
- Telegu-नाल्लावलू (Nallaavalu);
- Malayalam-करूपकटुका (Karupakatuka);
- Marathi-शलघम (Shalgham), शीरस (Sherasa)।
- English-वाइल्ड टरनीप (Wild turnip)
शलजम के फायदे: शलजम में एन्टीऑक्सिडेंट, मिनरल, फाइबर, विटामिन सी, कैल्शियम जैसे अनेक पौष्टिक गुणों का स्रोत है। इसलिए आयुर्वेद में शलगम का उपयोग को अनेक बीमारियों के लिए औषधि के रुप में इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।
श्वसनिका शोथ में लाभकारी: ब्रोंकाइटिस जैसी बीमारी से आराम पाने में शलजम का प्रयोग किया जाता है। शलजम का तेल छाती पर लगाने से श्वसनिका-शोथ या सूजन कम होता है।
खाँसी को करे दूर: मौसम बदलते ही बच्चे से लेकर बड़े-बूढ़े सबको सर्दी-खांसी की होने लगती है।ऐसे में शलजम को काटकर, भूनकर, नमक डालकर सेवन करने से खाँसी में लाभ होता है।
बवासीर से दिलअत है राहत :उडी आप ज्यादा मसालेदार, तीखा खाने के आदि है तो पाइल्स की बीमारी होने की संभावना बढ़ जाती है। उसमें शलजम का घरेलू उपाय बहुत ही फायदेमंद साबित होता है
अकड़न से दिलाये आराम: सही पॉश्चर में नहीं लेटने के कारण गर्दन में अकड़न हो रही है तो शलजम का इस्तेमाल करने से फायदा मिलता है। शलजम के तेल में कपूर मिलाकर लगाने से आमवात तथा मन्यास्भं में लाभकारी होता हैं |
